Happies From Uncle Rob

I'm really bummed that my cousin, Miss Anne the Surveyor, won't be joining me at the Blue Ridge Rally this year.  Miss Anne belongs to Uncle Rob (Mom's 1st cousin) and his wife Trisha.  We have camped with them going on twelve seasons. Mom likes to joke with them about them holding the record for the most different trailers coming to the BRR.  I think it's four!  It makes me sad that their string will be broken.

Mom loves camping with Uncle Rob because they both are techies, love to cook, write blogs, do mods, snitch each other's ideas, find cool camping gear, collect stickers, and snap photos every time every chance they get.  I will get to camp with them two times this summer.  We will meet at Raccoon Holler in July and my 1st trip to the Outer Banks in August and that makes me happy.

Speaking of happy, we got one in the mail today!  Uncle Rob has some sort of new gadget at his house that will make decals.  He designed and made one for us.  I told Mom she's gotta find a spot to put it on my door!!  Thanks Uncle Rob for my hella-cool decal.

Fun Stuff On This Friday

The weather was absolutely gorgeous today here in the NC Foothills and even though I am on a little stay-cation, there was fun stuff afoot on this Friday.  Momma Sharon got a package in the mail that contributed to a very good day for both of us.

At the recent Blue Ridge Rally, we were both mesmerized by the light show put on at T@Bulous' campsite by Mr. Michael and Mr. Jeff each night.  As soon as I saw the lights, I knew what was going to happen!  It always does.  Mom is so predictable . . . LOL.

As soon as we got home, she was hinting for information about those lights.  After Mr. Randy (the king of all things fabulous in the night) and Mr. Michael told her what she needed, it was click, click, click on Amazon.  Here's what the Postman brought today . . . 

Blue, green, and purple ought to look quite stunning on me at night!  I hate that we will have to wait a month to try it out in The Holler, but that's OK and something fun to look forward to.

This past week when Mom and Aunt Wendy were shopping at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, they spotted a very cool beach towel and knew right away that I would love it.  They know me well!

This afternoon Momma Sharon was sitting on the deck reading and sipping a beverage while the pups patrolled the yard.  It dawned on her that 3 very cool drink holders are now in our camping bin.  The little one on the left is an insulated wine cup that she and Miss Alice picked up after their wine tasting at Thistle Meadow Winery during the Caravan.  

The stylish lime green one in the middle is an Ozark Trail tumbler from Miss Kathryn that Mom used during the entire BRR when she needed to have something cool to sip on.  And that big monster RTIC bottle is the granddaddy of all containers and was a happy that Michael and Jeff gave her.  Hot coffee in that thing will last all day!! 

We have the most thoughtful camping buddies that always seem to know the perfect gifts to give us.  

So now you know why this was a fun Friday for us.  Murphy has bounced back and is doing well, Mom started a new book in a series she is enjoying, and we are thankful for all our T@Bbin' blessings.  Have a great weekend everyone and until I have another little Story for you to read, always remember . . .

Frolic Happies

You know what I love about gatherings like the Fantastic Frolic? Momma Sharon and I get happies!  Well, actually I usually don't get anything, but that's OK because I love the smile on Mom's face when she is handed a bag of goodies.

Here's the bag that Miss Jennifer and Miss Peggy handed Mom on Wednesday.  It's so neat when the rally organizers and hostesses give you little gifts.  Here's what we got last week . . .

Two little soap samples from Nour-ish in Savannah

A copy of Pink magazine, Inis cologne sample,  notepad, and Poo-Pourri spritz

A variety of brochures about Lowcountry attractions

And to top it all off, Momma's oldest Sister-Friend, Miss Rebecca gave her an uber cool plastic tray with coffee cups all over it!!  She used it all weekend to take food items over to party central for breakfast, happy hour, and supper.  I am 100% certain it will go camping with us forever and ever!

HAPPIES . . . unexpected gifts from friends just because.   How fun!!

Super Pot Happy

How 'bout that for an intriguing title and what could it possibly mean?

Shortly after I pulled into Toe River Campground behind Pod and got settled in my site, Uncle Rob came over with a happy for Momma Sharon.  The minute we saw it, we knew it would be perfect for our favorite cooking appliance . . . our Super Pot!

I know you are probably wondering what in the world is a Super Pot. Well, the best way I can describe it to you is that it's an indoor grill that does it all . . . grills, bakes, boils, steams, and slow cooks just about anything you can imagine. Momma's friend Toolbelt Sue even makes pancakes in it!  It's light weight, non-stick, has a raised grill surface and for campers like my Mom, it eliminates a whole bunch of other cooking appliances!

Ever since my Camper Mom got her Super Pot at Target, she's been looking for the perfect bag to carry it in.  Well guess what?  That happy from Pod, Uncle Rob, and Aunt Trisha does the trick!!  And the icing on the cake is that it's embroidered with our names on top . . . how cool is that?!

The Happies Just Keep Coming!

Woohoo . . . happy Hump Day!!  What a beautiful day here in the Carolinas.  I hope that your day is equally fine.  I guess you figured out that I snagged a bit more computer time, didn't you?  Yep, and that means I get to tell you about four more extra special happies we got from our BRR Peeps.

I think this darling silver trailer looks just like me!  I don't have angel wings, but these are stinkin' cute!!

Our little Campmeister-In-Training made this priceless work of art for us!

This is called a "tread catcher", but I think it will catch coins or keys or anything that I tend to lose

I have big plans for these funky waterproof pouches . . . they are going to hold all my cords & cables & chargers!

Blue Ridge Happies

Every single year that Momma Sharon and I host the Blue Ridge Rally, there are a couple of things that always surprise us.  The first is the distance that some of my camping buddies will travel to join us at the rally.  This year, my friend Ellis Island accompanied by Sandy and Joe, traveled all the way from Iowa!  The second thing that always surprises me are all the neat little happies that Blue Ridgers give us.

Momma Sharon always writes them down in her notebook and makes a point of sending out little thank you notes from the both of us.  This year we got three cash donations to help cover our expenses and another one to purchase wood for our evening campfires!  We were blown away by that!!

Sometimes the happies are just plain fun like these . . . 

Cheddar cheese from Ashe County Cheese in the shape of a Scotty!

Bags of fresh roasted coffee beans, bags of ground coffee, and a small coffee grinder!

YoYo Monkey who is the perfect lime green & blue and loves to hang around with us!!
