I Gotta Pizza Bag

Howdeee!  I've got a very exciting Story for you this evening.  About six o'clock there was a knock on the front door.  No one ever comes to Momma Sharon's front door, so the resident Schnauzers went a little berserk.  I knew in an instant who it was . . . it was the FedEx delivery man bringing me something I've been wanting for YEARS!!

My Camper Mom has been talking about getting a big pizza delivery bag to carry my BAL tire leveler for a long, long time.  She read someone talking about it on our Yahoo T@B Group and of course, like a good camper, she snitched that idea.  Trouble was, it took her forever to get one!!

Last week on eBay, she found one at a great price and the right size . . . 20 x 20 x 5" and today it arrived at my front door!  True to form, Momma Sharon grabbed her camera, opened the box, and commenced to record the momentous occasion.

IT'S A PERFECT FIT!

JUST THE RIGHT DEPTH AT FIVE INCHES

MOMMA SHARON CAN MOVE IT AROUND WITH THE CARRYING STRAPS

Woohoo, she did good, didn't she?!  I think so and I bet you want your Mom or Dad to get you one too!  Feel free to snitch my idea if you want to.

I hope a whole bunch of you are out there camping this weekend and into the 4th of July holiday.  My cousin Pod is down at Myrtle Beach State Park with his folks and I hope he has a great time.  I'm perfectly happy staying home and avoiding all the crowds under my T@Bport.

Have a great 4th of July holiday and always remember what I say . . .

Camping Happies From Pod

Even though I didn't go to my Cousin Pod's rally this past weekend, his folks, Rob and Trisha, made sure I had some camping happies.  They are extra groovy lime green and blue happies and I'm really diggin' them!

LIME GREEN PLASTIC STORAGE BIN

TALL BLUE PLASTIC DRINKING CUP

MY VERY OWN DISH TOWEL

"I'D RATHER BE CAMPING" & 'SPLASH" POTHOLDERS

A GREEN CLIP FOR MY SNACK BAGS

GROOVY SUMMER BAG FOR ALL MY HAPPIES

You know, it's pretty neat that even if you don't get to go camping, folks don't forget about you.  Our Camper Mom and Dads are cool like that!

I hope you are having a big ole fun summer and remember . . .

My RNAFF Collage

In my best Robin Williams voice . . . "GOOD MORNING ALL YOU CAMPERS!"

We've got a cool, dreary start to our day here in the foothills, but I don't have travel plans any time soon, so it's OK by me.  Aunt Becky put my tire covers back on me yesterday, Momma Sharon cleaned out my refrigerator and wiped it dry yesterday, and all that's left to do is to grab my sheets and blanket to throw into the washer.  Ahhhh . . . what a life when everyone waits on you hand and foot . . . LOL.

I wanted to share the collage that my Camper Mom made last evening of our trip to Townsend together this past weekend.  It shows some of her flutie friends at RNAFF (Renaissance of the North American Flute Foundation), Big Meadow Family Campground (which we both love),  and of course, ME.

Momma Sharon is leaving town for another camping trip this Wednesday, but she's taking The Coffee Cup.  Cousin Pod and his folks are hosting a R-pod & Friends gathering not too far away at Raccoon Holler Campground.

There aren't any travel plans in my future until August when we'll be heading way up to Ohio for the big T@B, T@DA, and Little Guy rally called "Rolling Home".  Well, that's not exactly true.  I will be taking a little road trip to Pittsboro where RT's dad (Bob) will be installing a new Max Fan cover over my Northern Breeze fan AND adding a bike rack on my frame!  Woohoo . . . new mods for this season!

Soooooooo . . . that's it for now campers.  Have a great week, I'll be talking to you later, and always remember . . .

That'll Teach Her . . .

Momma Sharon was shopping at Walmart with Wendy week before last and spied a cool looking indoor-outdoor rug.  It was sitting way up high where she couldn't get a close look at it, so she grabbed one of the Wally World workers with a forklift and had him get it down for her. Why exactly did she go to all this trouble when I already have two perfectly good all-weather plastic mats?  Because it was lime green and blue . . . duh!!

The price was good, the colors were perfect, and it was light-weight on top of being waterproof.  Can you say "DONE DEAL"?!

Even though she didn't take a whole lot of camping gear with us this past weekend to Townsend, she did take this new rug to put under my Visor.  She was all puffed up and proud of it Wednesday afternoon and I think you'll understand why when you see this next photo . . .

Now let me skip ahead a couple hours and show you what we experienced in the campground around four o'clock that continued all through the night . . .

Thursday morning when Momma Sharon stepped outside, water from that new rug sloshed up over her Crocs.  Hmmmm . . . I guess she didn't pay much attention to the fact that the bottom of the rug was rubber and those pretty lime green and blue flowers would hold rain water like a sponge!!  That'll teach her!

If she had a squeegee like the ones used on tennis courts to get rid of standing water, then all would have been well.  We both knew that the forecast for the entire weekend involved a chance of rain and it would have been disastrous carrying home a sopping wet rug.  So my Camper Mom came up with a plan . . . take that cool new rug and drape it over the railing at the office and let it drip dry for three days.

By yesterday afternoon, it was almost completely dry so she could roll it back up for the trip home.  I told her that I loved my new rug and it will work well inside my screen room or side tent and look terrific.  But the next time she finds something lime green and blue, I hope she thinks things through.  That'll teach her . . . LOL!!!

In The Primo Site!

It's Saturday.  The sun is shining.  I'm camping in the mountains.  Does it get any better than this?!?!?!

While Momma Sharon is hanging out with all her flutie friends over at the RNAFF gathering, I'm sitting here in primo site #14 greeting everyone as they come and go.  Site 14 is right at the entrance and I get to see and hear it all!

It sure looks different from the last time I was here surrounded by all my camping friends.  In fact, it looks deserted!  That's OK because I'm out front, on the river this time where all the action is.

We've had a lot of rain since we got here on Wednesday, but I promised my Camper Mom that I would keep her high and dry.  In return, she's been taking pictures of me from every conceivable angle!! Here's one of me that I think she should frame!

Momma Sharon and I had just lunch together and she's almost ready to head back over for the afternoon programs, so I'll scoot on outta here.  Y'all have a great weekend and always remember . . .

Music In The Air

Greetings friends . . . Splash here with a little bitty Story in anticipation of hitting the highway tomorrow!  Momma Sharon and I are off to Townsend, TN to stay with Barbara and the Big Meadow crew for five whole days.

What's the occasion you ask?  There's a BIG gathering of fluties up there.  OK, now I know you're thinking "what's a flutie?"  That's what my Camper Mom and all the folks who play Native American flutes are called.  She's part of an organization called RNAFF, which stands for Renaissance of the Native American Flute Foundation.

She was playing the Native American flute long before we found each other, so I'm excited that she gets to reconnect with old friends this weekend!

Over at the Heritage Center in Townsend, there will be workshops, seminars, flute vendors, and concerts from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.  I think Momma Sharon will be in Flute Heaven!  She hasn't played her flutes as much as she used to and I think it has something to do with me, so this weekend will be a good thing for her.

Be sure to drop by here for a Story or two and don't forget to scoot over to pick up your evening Postcard between now and Sunday!  I hope you are having a great first week in June and always remember . . .
