A Kool Kamp Kadi

Heyeee from me, the one and only SplashT@B!!  It's a beautiful Spring day here in my hometown and I've got a special Story for you today.

Y'all know that my Camper Mom loves to find unique, sometimes funky, things for me.  Well, she was checking out new pins on her Pinterest site a few weeks ago and ran across something called a Kamp Kadi.  Following the link from the photo back to the actual website that it came from, she found out it was a BBQ accessory that attaches to the end of a picnic table.

Her wheels starting spinning and she said to herself, "I think this would be so cool at the end of The Coffee Bar at the Blue Ridge Rally.  Plus, if I get two, I can run a string of lights across the top!"  And that was all it took.

Yesterday the package from Amazon arrived . . .

A quick peek inside revealed two small white boxes holding the goodies . . .

All six pieces were accounted for . . .

She really didn't need the instructions since putting it together was a snap . . .

Since we don't have a picnic table to test it out on, we used the porch railing . . .

And just like that, it was assembled . . . decorated too!!

It has a shelf for putting things like fruit or condiments . . .

There are four hooks to hang things like utensils . . .

Finally, it has an extension arm for putting a roll of paper towels . . .

So what do you think?  Pretty cool huh?  I think so too and if you are interested in one for yourself, just go to Amazon and look for Kamp Kadi.  You even get free shipping if you get two like Momma Sharon did!

Well I appreciate you dropping by today.  Camping season is getting closer and closer and I cannot wait.  Until then, just remember . . .

Stocking The Coffee Bar

At our upcoming Blue Ridge Rally, Momma Sharon has added a new activity that involves something near and dear to her heart . . . coffee. Every morning at 8:00, our Coffee Bar will be open for business!  We will have freshly brewed hot coffee for everyone with all the trimmings available to anyone who drops by.  Eight o'clock might be a little early for some of our campers, so it's OK if they come in their jammies!

Today Mom took her Coffee Bar shopping list to Walmart and she came home with a whole bunch of goodies!

First and foremost, she got the Mr. Coffee machine that she had researched and found to be the second best one out there.  It's got lots of cool features that she wanted and it's gonna brew up some fine grounds for everyone.

That big ole plastic bin in my signature color will store and transport everything very conveniently both here at home and on the trip to Raccoon Holler Campground.  She stocked up on 200 coffee filters and two rolls of paper towels too.

I suggested that she do this Coffee Bar up right and borrow items from The Coffee Cup . . . Melmac cream and sugar bowls, vintage coffee spoons, plastic tablecloth, a couple serving trays, her cute coffee apron, and Susan's java rug, just to name a few.  I also thought it would be a good idea to snitch Wendy's tea pot so we could have hot water for all the tea drinkers . . . I'm smart like that!

She also got a new 80-foot outdoor power cord, a couple of cable wraps to keep things tidy, and an outdoor adaptor so she can plug in several items at a time at the Bar.  I get kinda tickled every time I think about her checking items off her to-do list with a big grin on her face!

We still need to get some Dunkin' Donuts Coffee, some yummy creamers, and that will just about wrap up getting ready for The Coffee Bar.  That can wait until a day or two before the rally though.  I don't know about you, but I'm getting pretty excited!!

I hope you are having a super-duper weekend like we are.  Have fun and always remember . . .

Over-The-Fire Grill

Well it's taken me one whole month to wrestle the computer away from Momma Sharon!  Because she is in full-blown Blue Ridge Rally mode, I successfully snitched it just now.

With the rally a mere 40 days away for the Early Birds and 43 days away from its official start, she is making those lists she's so fond of and working on every single detail to make sure the 7th Annual BRR is the best one yet.

Today when we she got home from a quick belated birthday celebration with Jessie, she saw a big box leaning against the wall at the front door!  It's the Lumberjack Over-The-Fire Grill she ordered for our big Early Bird Community Grill on Monday night at the rally.  Woohoo . . . I can almost smell the hot dogs and chicken and steak on the grill now!!

It's a beauty of a grill for sure.  It has legs that fold when being stored and sit outside the fire pit when being used.  The holes in the grill are small enough to keep food from falling through onto the coals. Plus it's HUGE . . . 36" by 18" and that will handle a lot of food that the Blue Ridgers bring to grill.

My guess is that I'll be able to get back to some regular posting now that camping season is just around the corner.  So check by every now and then to see what's up with me and my Blue Ridge Momma!!
