Every single time Momma Sharon and Aunt Becky were out and about on Tybee Island, they saw golf carts zipping around the island. The witches from the Tybee Broom Club were out and about in long golf carts on Halloween. I believe the seed got planted when we saw them zoom past the campground later that afternoon. On Wednesday while at the Latitude Shops, Mom saw another rental cart. At that point she and Aunt Becky started a conversation with, "Wouldn't it be fun if . . . "
A phone call to Dixie Pedalers was made, information was gathered, and about 10:00 on Thursday morning, a golf cart was delivered to our campsite! The Beckster was the designated driver, Momma Sharon was the Nagivator, and Linda and Sheila were the brave back seaters.
For almost two hours, those four crazy campers scooted around the streets and neighborhoods of the North Shore. They cruised by the lighthouse, saw parts of Fort Screven up close, admired several beach homes, drove past the Tybee Post Theater, and stretched their legs on the beach before lunch.
Lunch was back at North Beach Bar & Grill where they met a half dozen other Beach Peeps. After eating the special of the day, Bulldog Burgers, the gals hit the road for the afternoon adventure. Aunt Becky had several rules she had to follow and one involved staying off of Highway 80. There were only three stoplights available to get them across the highway. Mom, the Nagivator, had her trusty map and it didn't take too long to head down to the south end of the island.
After moseying up and down the streets and avenues looking for Jane Coslick cottages, they cut across 80 for a stretch break at the Tybee Pier.
About 4:00, the crazy golf cart ladies returned and I could tell by the smiles on their faces and their laughter, that they had a grand time. Their day in the 4-seater wasn't over quite yet because they took the sandy Soloman Street over to supper at Huc-A-Poos. I'm so glad that they pursued that initial question. "Wouldn't it be fun if . . . " I think it's a question to ask every single time we are out camping together!!
Well, I'm not sure how many chapters are left in this CCIII Storybook. I think I am close to finishing telling you the behind-the-scenes Stories. Until I write another one, always remember . . .
"Peace, Love, & Wouldn't It Be Fun If . . . "
