T@Bport Upgrade

Howdy campers!  Splash here with another Story for you.

Before Momma Sharon headed north with Aunt Becky way back on June 2nd, she made the decision to do a little upgrade to my T@Bport. When Bec had to have the huge oak tree in the front yard cut down, I lost all my mid-day and afternoon shade.  So I was baking every single day and my Camper Mom knew it would take a toll on my groovy decals.  I was kinda worried too since the hottest days of summer were yet to come.

My T@Bport has protected me through every season for many years, but I needed help!  Mom went back to the carport man and ordered two side panels.  And wouldn't you know it, they arrived and were installed while she was on her trip, so I don't have any "during" photos to show you . . . just "after" ones.

She was in a dilemma about how many panels to get because she got two different measurements/sizes from the two people she talked to. They ended up being bigger than either number she was given.  I'm pretty sure that she'll be ordering two more sometime soon since my driver's side gets morning sun.

I'm pretty tickled with what I got though.  It keeps people from driving by and seeing me sitting here all by myself and that makes me feel safe . . . along with The Claw that's attached to my tire!

I know a bunch of you will be out there camping during this July 4th holiday.  Travel safely, have fun, and always remember . . .

Worth Another Look

Over on Facebook this morning, a camping friend of my Mom's posted a very interesting photo as her new profile pic.  I was immediately intrigued because it looked vintage.  The creases in the photo, the older couple, the landscape all had a retro appearance.  That was until I looked closely at the trailer and noticed it was one of my cousins . . . a T@B.

When I spied the website in the lower lefthand corner, I got a little curious and followed its trail.  At Worth1000.com I found a creative contest site where competitions are held daily.  Some of the stuff is kinda weird and doesn't interest me at all.  But I really like this camping photo that Gunny's mom found and it was worth another look!

Just thought you might be interested too.  Happy Hump Day and always remember . . .

Time For A Little Story

Happy first day of Summer everyone!  It's been so hot around here lately that I truly believe it started several weeks ago, not today.

I have an itty bitty Story to share with you that involves time . . . T@B time. My Camper Mom likes to make T@B clocks and every once in a while she will sell them at rallies.  She also takes special orders from her camping buddies for specific colors or themes.

At our Blue Ridge Rally back in May, Karyl and Jim from Kannapolis had a request for her . . . create a T@B clock that featured the aqua and browns of their little T@B.  You might remember that Momma Sharon took baby pictures of their trailer at the factory during last year's Rolling Home Rally.  So she has a special place in her heart for that aqua beauty and agreed to create a one-of-a-kind clock.

Today she and Aunt Becky drove to Camping World to meet Karyl and Jim and present them with this cute clock . . .

Let me point out a few details that make it a bit special.  See the hat around 8:00?  Jim wears one like that when he's camping.  Did you notice the J for Jim and K for Karyl?  Underneath the little hand is hiding a stick with a marshmallow on it and there are camping sayings scattered here and there.  What I love most is that the entire background is all about doggies and are dedicated to the four camping Doxies!

Here's a snapshot of Jim and Karyl seeing their T@B clock for the first time . . .

Okie, dokie I need to scoot.  Have a great weekend and if you'd like your own personal camping clock, I bet Momma Sharon could help you out! Until the next Storytime always remember . . .

Got Me A Club

I had a surprise visitor today . . . Momma Sharon!!  I didn't know it, but she bought a little bit of protection for me.  It's a Club Tire Claw that fits right around my driver's side tire.  I've always felt safe sitting down here at Aunt Becky's house under my T@Bport, but my Camper Mom thought some extra security was just what I needed.  I think she worries about me when she and Aunt Becky are off on an adventure.

Remember my Story yesterday about her snitching ideas?  Well, she stole this idea from my little aqua camping buddy from Kannapolis. Papa Jim said it was called The Club, Model #491 and he found it on Amazon.  So she whipped out her credit card and wham-bam-thank-ya-ma'am, it was on it's way!

The package says it "Installs in Seconds!" and that was true!  Before I could blink, it was wrapped securely around my tire.  I know its on there good because Aunt Becky tugged on it and it didn't budge.

After putting the key on my key ring and giving Bec a spare, she slipped my tire cover back on and I'm sitting pretty . . . and sneaky-safe I might add!

This week while Mom's out of town, some Carolina Carport guys are coming to install four side panels on my T@Bport.  Three are going on my door side and one is going on the opposite side.  Aunt Becky had a huge oak tree cut down a few weeks ago and the shade that I used to enjoy every day has disappeared.  Because of that, I'm getting baked and Mom's not too happy about that sun fading out my cool graphics.

Here's a photo of me before the panels arrive and I'll have to show you the addition in a couple of weeks.

I really appreciate you dropping by to listen to my Security Story today!  I'll be out of touch for a couple of weeks while my Mom is off on another adventure.  Be sure to pick up one of her Postcards each evening and I'll talk to you week after next.  Until then, always remember . . .
