Three Sunday Stories

Evenin' everyone.  Good thing I took over blogging duties today, because Momma Sharon had to take Murphy the Camping Dog to the emergency vet.  She was up most of the night tending to a sick little girl and then decided to play it safe and take her to the doctor.  All is well and they are both looking forward to a good night's sleep this evening.

Yesterday I shared three Short Stories with you and today I have three more.  Well, they are more like rambling thoughts, but you get the idea.

Story Number 1

When Momma Sharon made the decision to get a vintage camper, it took her awhile before she settled in on The Coffee Cup's name and java theme.  Also in the running was The Kokopelli Cafe with a Native American theme.  The color schemes weren't all that different, but the graphics would have been. Yesterday on Facebook, I found an awesome looking R-pod and realized immediately that that's what The Cup would have looked like if Momma Sharon had gone the Southwestern route.

Story Number 2

We have a number of camping blogs that we follow, but one of our favorites is one that written by my camping buddy Fireball's folks. They are the Crankshaws from Michigan, but they call the blog "campshaws on the road..."  Pretty cool don't ya think? They are out on the highways right now on another one of their grand adventures. Momma Sharon saw the perfect bumper stick for Fireball and shared it with them yesterday.  If you'd like to check out their blog, just click HERE.

Story Number 3

I love the art of camping.  You know, things like signs, paintings, bunting, bumper stickers, flags.  Every once in a while I will snitch a photo of one I particularly like and toss it into a special folder.  Here's what I mean . . .

The weekend is coming to an end and I hope you've enjoyed the ride. Thanks for dropping by to listen to another trio of Stories.  I will talk to you soon and until then, always remember . . .

Three Saturday Stories

Hey y'all . . . how's it going?  Since Momma Sharon has got half a dozen things going on today, I thought it would be a good time to snitch a little computer time. Come to think of it, I have half a dozen things flitting through my mind today.  How about three little Short Stories for Saturday and three more for Sunday?

Story Number 1 . . .

I am in need of a new battery/propane box on my frame.  My lime green one has some cracks and I'm really worried that one day it's just going to hit the road all by itself!  The big drawback to getting
another one from Little Guy is that it's spray-painted and the paint isn't infused in the box.  That means that if it gets scratched, white shows through.  A white box would solve that scratching problem, but it just wouldn't look as groovy as my lime green box.

I found a nice white, polymer tool box made especially for A-frames.  It reminds me of Momma Sharon's Yeti and I think it might work well.  We will have to stay tuned on this one.

Story Number 2 . . .

Today is soap making day in the house.  Momma Sharon has given away some of her homemade soap and people liked it so much, it's time to make more.  In fact, she's
going to make three different batches. What does that have to do with me? When that soap sits inside of my cabinets, it makes me smell good!! Uncle Rob gave Momma Sharon some camping soap for her birthday that keeps bugs away and I cannot wait to use it.

Story Number 3 . . .

A whole bunch of my friends (Shiny Home, Tiny Home, Breezy, Santa Baby and others) are headed to Florida for some winter fun in the sun. Their destination is LaBelle for the Swamp Cabbage
Festival.  Momma Sharon and Aunt Becky are going, but since their plans include some serious touristy stuff, they aren't taking me. That's OK since I have seven trips on my 2015 camping calendar!

Okie dokie peeps, that's it for today.  I'll share my other three Short Stories with you tomorrow if you have time to drop in again. Have a great Saturday yourself and until tomorrow, always remember . . .

REI Goodies

Yesterday, Momma Sharon and Aunt Becky went on a little shopping spree.  A shopping spree for me!!  They came home with a trunk load of goodies from REI in Concord.

My Camper Mom has been talking for some time now about getting a light-weight, cool-weather sleeping bag that she can just toss in the car to take the place of my foam mattress, sheets, and blankets for certain trips.  There were lots and lots to choose from at REI in a whole bunch of price ranges and temperature ratings.

Mom and Aunt Bec spread them out on the platform, unzipped them, and slid right in to try out several.  In the end, they both chose an REI sleeping bag called the Siesta.  Momma picked green for me and Bec picked purple.

Not only that, she picked up a set of expanding tent poles for The Coffee Cup's awning and a new microfiber towel for the shower.  My new sleeping bag is roomy and soft and it packs up nicely in a green carrying sack.  I think it's going to be a groovy addition to our camping supplies.

I appreciate you dropping by today for a Shopping Short Story.  Have a good weekend everyone and until I see you again, always remember . . .

Camping Apron - - Splash-Style

Hey there everyone!  While Momma Sharon is all engrossed with her football this afternoon, I'm snitching the Mac for a few minutes to share a Short Story with you about the camping apron that she made last week.

I won't go into a whole lot of detail about it because she sent out a Postcard a couple days ago talking about the fabric and how she made it and blah, blah, blah.  Now she won't have to use The Cup's java apron when we are out there cooking in the Super Pot or making coffee for a crowd.

Here's the java apron she wore at the Blue Ridge Rally to refresh your memory . . .

And here's the one she stitched up last week . . .

That's all for right now.  Have a good weekend and until I have another Story to tell you, always remember . . .

Happy New Year everyone!  Other than a few fireworks going off in the neighborhood, it was a quiet entry into 2015.

Momma Sharon and I have been plotting and planning and jotting destinations down on my camping calendar.  If all goes well, we have some fabulous trips to look forward to!  She had lunch with Pod's folks this past week and all the did was talk camping talk.  It didn't surprise me one single bit to find out that I will get to camp with Cousin Pod five times this year!  Check out this schedule . . .

March 29 - April 3 . . . Spring Break @ Huntington Beach State Park
April 29 - May 3 . . . Blue Ridge Rally @ Big Meadow Family Campground
June 18-21 . . . ERU Rally In WV
